The Evolution of the Sport – Drag Bike Racing in 1992 and 2012

Motorcycle drag racing has changed a great deal over the past 20 years as evidenced by the next two videos –

The ultra-structured, “pro style” events are all but dead and the sport seems to be relying on festival-style events to survive. Wheelie bars are quickly becoming obsolete as well. Where is motorcycle drag racing headed?  Has pro-style racing peaked, or will it make a comeback? Will grudge racing gain popularity, or flame out?

    I still like the old air cooled drag bikes the best.There were some real craftsmen who built those bikes.
