The 2026 SMX World Championship season began with promise for Toyota Redlands BarX Yamaha as the opening race of the AMA Supercross Championship saw the trio of Parker Ross, Dilan Schwartz, and Lux Turner all qualify for the Anaheim 1 Main Event. Each rider showed tenacity as they waged battle against the best of the Western Divisional 250SMX Class in front of a sold out crowd inside Angel Stadium, where all three athletes secured a spot in the top 15 to set a solid foundation for the upcoming rounds.
#40 Parker Ross

In his first Supercross race with the team, A1 was guaranteed to allow for learning opportunities for Ross. Things didn’t get off to the start he wanted in qualifying, but he bounced back with a great ride in the Heat Race to secure the final automatic transfer into the Main Event. After a mid-pack start in the final race of the evening, Ross was engaged in a fierce battle for the top 10 the for majority of the Main Event. He ultimately settled for a 14th-place finish, but more importantly, Ross showed consistent improvement every time he took to the track.
“The day went alright. I let the nerves of A1 get to me more than I wanted them too and didn’t quite ride like myself all day. However, for not riding how I normally do to still end up 14th is a good confidence boost as we move on to the next few rounds.”
#42 Dilan Schwartz

In his first A1 start since the 2023 season, Schwartz looked comfortable from the moment he took to the track. At full health for the first time to begin a season in some time, his experience and excitement was evident as he posted the ninth-quickest time in qualifying and followed that up with a fifth in the Heat Race. A less than ideal start in the Main Event meant Schwartz had work to do, but he impressed in his ability to move forward, which included a battle with his teammate, Ross. After he broke into the top 10 just past the halfway point, Schwartz ran a consistent pace to lock up a 10th-place result.
“I honestly feel like I didn’t ride great in the Main Event. I struggled to find a good flow, which caused me to get a little tight and not be able to keep pushing forward like I wanted. But with that, I know I have much more in the tank and I’m going to try and improve next weekend to keep moving up the leaderboard.”
#43 Lux Turner

With mere days on the bike coming into A1, the opening round was going to be a test to see where Turner’s race pace was at coming off a significant injury that cost him almost the entirety of the offseason. Given the circumstances, his debut with the team was one to be proud of. He posted a top-15 time in qualifying and transferred directly out of the Heat Race. Adversity struck to open the Main Event as he tangled with another rider in the first turn, but Turner dug deep and clawed his way back into contention. He enjoyed tight battles along the way and captured a well-earned 15th-place finish, providing a jolt of confidence moving forward.
“It was cool being under the tent with the new team. It obviously wasn’t the result I wanted, but as of Tuesday of race week I didn’t even know if I was going to race or not. So given that, I’m pretty proud of myself to push through and race with just three days on the bike heading into A1. I know I can be better and I know I will be better next week.”
#154 Leo Tucker
Leo Tucker made his Supercross debut in Anaheim, which signified the culmination of a long journey to overcome the Epstein-Barr virus that sidelined him for the entirety of the previous season. Tucker gained invaluable experience during his first time competing in the confines of the stadium and while he missed out on a spot in the night show, he’s destined to get better and better with each race and will eventually lineup alongside his teammates to race in front of thousands of passionate fans.
