NHRA officials announced today that the popular Top Fuel Harleys will be added to the competition lineup at the 17th annual DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, April 1-3.
The Top Fuel Harley portion of the event will be presented by NHRA and Harley-Davidson, in conjunction with the Top Fuel Harley Racers Association. It will serve as an 11th event in the NHRA Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Series for Top Fuel, and the third of five to be held during an NHRA Mello Yello Series event.
Riders who compete in this event will earn points toward the NHRA Top Fuel Harley national championship.
The Top Fuel Harleys will join the exciting racing anticipated in the NHRA Mello Yello Series, which features the world’s quickest and fastest race cars in Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock categories. Racing in the NHRA Lucas Oil Series also will be featured at this event. Richie Crampton (Top Fuel), John Force (Funny Car) and Erica Enders (Pro Stock) were winners of this event one year ago. The race will be televised on FOX Sports 1 (FS1).
