AHDRA Makes Rule Change

Published on May 7, 2009 by   ·   No Comments

HDRA makes changes to 2009 rulebook involving the S&S 124 Challenge class (SSC), Screamin’ Eagle V-Rod Destroyer class (VRD) and the General Rules section.

1-Effective June 1, 2009, the weight specification for SSC Class motorcycles will be changed from 750 lbs. to 682 lbs. The wheelbase specification will change from 68 inches to 70 inches.

2-Effective March 1, 2009, the V-Rod Destroyer class records will be set aside and new records established subsequent to that date will be official. This change is made in conjunction with the weight increase and fuel injection/RPM limits instituted for the 2009 season.

3-Motorcycles competing in the AHDRA SSC class and in the AHDRA Street Pro class, at the same event, will be allowed a variance of “General Rule” number six (6). This is specific to these classes and is in effect for the 2009 season only.

These changes are made in our efforts to make AHDRA competition fair and attractive to more competitors and promote participation. Riders competing in SSC and Street Pro and using an air shifter in Street Pro must have the shifting cylinder disconnected during SSC competition.

As of May 1, 2009 the new Screamin’ Eagle V-Rod Destroyer records are: ¼ mile ET-9.337, 1/8 mile ET-5.943, ¼ mile MPH-146.19 and 1/8 mile MPH-117.66, all held by Nick Gonatas Jr.
