The man with more than 40 track championships and more than 100 event victories, bracket racing ace Roy Hagadorn, 61, of Venice, Fla. will be inducted into the NHRA Div. 2 Hall of Fame at the upcoming Gatornationals.
“It’s unreal. We were out having dinner and I got the call from NHRA and was blown away,” Hagadorn said. “They put me on a ballot a few years back and I didn’t think I would ever hear back. I owe a lot of people thanks. I know Bret Kepner and Kevin McKenna have been pushing for me (longtime drag racing journalists), and I appreciate that.”
It’s a well deserved honor for a man with a motorcycle racing resume unlike any other.
Hagadorn has made it to the NHRA bracket finals a staggering four times, winning it once, and last year won the big NHDRO $50K bracket shootout.
His formula for success is consistency and hard work.
“When you get something running good you don’t mess with it,” said Hagadorn, who has raced the same 1981 Suzuki GS 1100 for 40 years. “You cant play that practice enough.”
He is no doubt one of the greatest of all-time.
Please join us in congratulating Roy Hagadorn.
