The International Hot Rod Association’s (IHRA) Outlaw Nitro Series returns to action at Darana Motorsports Park – Dunn (formerly GALOT Motorsports Park), November 6-8, for a can’t-miss weekend of explosive drag racing action.
The event showcases headline competition in Top Fuel, Nitro Funny Car, Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Top Fuel Harley, Mountain Motor Pro Stock, Pro Mod, Pro Nitrous, and Outlaw Pro Mod, along with the fan-favorite Fuel Altereds, which make their highly anticipated return to the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series lineup.

Capping off each night, Earth Shaking Entertainment will deliver a fire-filled spectacle featuring jet-powered exhibitions from Russ Lethbridge’s “Hell Fire” Jet Semi Truck, Dawn Perdue in Scott Arriaga’s “Wicked Sinsation” Jet Dragster, and Scotty “Heat” Holdridge in the 300-mph “Fifty Cal” Jet Dragster.
“The Darana Motorsports Park event will bring fans one of the most diverse and high-energy lineups we’ve had all season,” said Scott “Woody” Woodruff, a member of the IHRA leadership team. “This facility continues to grow under new management and ownership, and the excitement of bringing the Outlaw Nitro Series back to North Carolina is something special. We also have some additional off-track entertainment that fans will be excited about.”
Returning IHRA stars, including Scott Palmer, Del Worsham, Lex Joon and recent event runner-up Terry Haddock, will chase more Ironman glory. The Mountain Motor Pro Stock field is proving to be one of the largest on tour, with heavy-hitters like John Montecalvo, Alan Drinkwater and Chris Powers ready to continue their rivalries on track.

Rickie Smith leads the Pro Nitrous charge, but joining him for the Ironman chase will be Travis Harvey. The Pro Mod field packs serious firepower with Kallee Mills, Craig Sullivan, Mike “Hollywood” Decker and Ty Tutterow, with Phil Esz once again expected to be a contender in Top Alcohol Funny Car.
Outlaw Pro Mod is once again set to put on a show with Brandon Pesz, Billy Banaka, Bubba Stanton and Frankie “The Madman” Taylor wheeling their machines with the “run with ya brung” boundaries.
In addition to the professional categories, racers from across the country will compete in the IHRA Pro-Am Sportsman program, showcasing grassroots racing at its best.
