Capone’s post race voice carried the heavy weight of a very expensive weekend but it’s racing and as he pointed out, “last season we couldn’t do anything wrong, this first race we did very little right, but on the horizon lots of changes remain in the works. Holly Keller of Fla. took a successful practice ride with a 1.24 seconds in 60 ft. Holly brings great racing skills, quick reaction times and a strong gear head mentality.”
“This weekend was one of those that you’d rather forget but other than the rain and trashing the transmission, we remain optimistic about racing with AMRA. No one liked the weather but Marty Vandenheuvel, AMRA and track staff at State Capital Raceway did a very decent job of getting in the Show on Sunday. It’s difficult to keep that many bikes on schedule, I just wish we could have made another round and given Holly chance at another pass but that will come at Bowling Green the end of April. We were so fortunate to have Don Plesser of PR Factory Store on site so that we could determine the coil problems and get it synched with the ignition. Plesser was right in there with the crew, it’s very reassuring to have that magnitude of assistance at the track with us.”
So it’ll be a couple weeks before the transmissions are ready, instead of rushing to Richmond, Team HeadBlade will be back on track in the hunt for championship AMRA points April 27-28 at Beech Bend Raceway, Bowling Green, KY. See you there.
