A $12-million motorsports complex is coming to Americus. The developer says it will rival an Atlanta track.
Star Racing’s George and Jackie Bryce released a site plan for the complex that will include a quarter mile concrete drag strip, a road racing circuit similar to Road Atlanta, and a technology park for Motorsports related businesses.
The complex will also include a training facility for drivers education and law enforcement training.
The Sumter County Commission approved a zoning change that allows Star Racing to build the complex across from South Georgia Technical College near Carter Regional Airport.
Construction is expected to begin later this year.
