Top Fuel Harley rider and current IHRA Nitro Harley points leader; Jay “The Bulldog” Turner of North Carolina is stepping in to fill Larry “The Spiderman” McBride’s shoes and match race against Dave Vantine at the 23rd Annual IDBL Fall Nationals at Maryland International Raceway on Oct 3rd & 4th.
Turner and Vantine will have a match race on Saturday at 4pm and 7pm, and at 1pm and 4pm on Sunday.
Turner currently leads the IHRA Nitro Jam series Harley class with 776 points with just two events remaining on the 2015 IHRA series schedule. Turner has picked up three national event wins on the season. Turner’s Harley is poised and ready to mix it up against Vantine and prove that he can run side-by side with two less cylinders and no blower!
McBride is still recovering from a fiery incident he endured at the top end of a pass at the IDBL – Orient Express Motorcycle US Nationals event in Atco Dragway in New Jersey just two weeks ago. The IDBL wishes Larry and speedy recovery and wants to thank everyone that made donations on his Gofundme.com account. “Blue” will live again!
