Matt Guidera Impressive in Vegas Test Session

With less than perfect conditions Matt Guidera and the Mohegan Sun/Rocklin Motorsports team broke the Las Vegas Pro Stock Motorcycle track record with an impressive 7.013 at 189.36 MPH on the Saturday test session. The previous Las Vegas track record was a 7.023 recorded by Chip Ellis during the October 2007 ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals. The record run capped a three-day test for the team which proved to be very rewarding.

“The guys have been very impressive right off the trailer this past weekend,” said Mohegan Sun/Rocklin Motorsports team co-owner Brian Bozsum. Bozsum stated that the team was running in full NHRA legal trim when they ran the 7.01. “We definitely met all of our goals and expectations this past weekend,” he continued. “We got from point A to B and ran very consistent numbers all three days.”“We are very excited about the future of the Mohegan Sun/Rocklin Motorsports racing program”, said team co-owner Vic Guidera. “Our co-crew chiefs Rick Maney and my son Len Guidera are getting better and better after each outing on the race track. Matt really impressed me this past weekend; he hopped right on the bike and rode it like he had just won a race last week. The whole team has put in long hours during this off season to get our racing program back together. Steve Seruset who is one of our guys behind the scenes back at the dealership has done a great job preparing the motors for the race track. All of their hard work is paying off which was evident by our performance this past weekend.”

“We have a very solid team in place for the 2008 season,” said Matt Guidera. “I have to stop and pinch myself from time to time. What a great position for an NHRA rider to be in. I have my father, brother Len, seasoned crew chief Rick Maney, engine builder Steve Seruset, all of our staff at the dealerships, Brian and Linda Bozsum, and the Mohegan Sun Casino behind me, what more could a guy ask for. On the way home from the test session in Vegas this past weekend one thing kept going through my mind, we are one ‘Gellin’ race team!”
