Chris Matheson and his Nitro Voodoo Team have won two from two Top Fuel Championship rounds at Sydney Dragway, the latest at the 400 Thunder Santo’s Summernationals on Saturday 21 January 2017.

Matheson said “it was a week of ups and downs as we were scheduled to test the week leading up to the Championship Round, however, poor weather made it difficult.  We were confident of putting on a good show after winning Round 1 at Sydney Dragway late last year”.

Matheson went on to say “the heat and rain in the lead up to the event had everyone on tender hooks, hoping for good weather come race day.  Thankfully race day was dry and conditions were good, the track officials did an excellent job and the traction was there”.

“We struggled with set up, as the track came around throughout the day, but we ran our best when it counted.  We top qualified, then won the final against Chris Porter, albeit it a slow race, damaging a motor at half track, but we still posted a 6.5 second pass, enough to take the win.”
