Hector Arana reached the second round in Pro Stock Motorcycle on the Lucas Oil Buell. He beat Scotty Pollachek with a lap of 6.993 at 188.41 mph to Pollachek’s 7.286 at 178.19 mph.
In the second round, Arana crossed paths with another eventual race winner, LE Tonglet. The Rookie of the Year candidate ran a 7.004 at 187.26 mph to Arana’s 13.665 at 36.45 mph.
“I thought everything was great then the bike just lost performance,” Arana said. “It just won’t run. We don’t know what it is, but I’m sure we’ll be able to fix it.”
