Please join us in sending thoughts and prayers to NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle racer Matt Smith who will have his gallbladder removed. Smith had to be rushed to the hospital before last weekend’s race at Maryland International Raceway and has revealed that he was suffering from Pancreatitis. Smith says he will be out of action for a few races while he recovers.

“After what happened to Kyle Busch us racers need to be careful with our health,” Smith said. “I need to focus on getting better so I can run for a championship. I need to get back healthy to where I can do everything I need to, not just for me but everyone on this team”
Smith says he plans to use a substitute rider in his absence. In Maryland it was Smith’s friend and PSM veteran Chip Ellis who was able to answer the call.

“I want to come back strong for Indy,” Smith said.
