LETTER FROM LARRY JEFFERS
IHRA OWNER & CEO

The 2024 International Hot Rod Association season has started. It’s easy to say this has been one of the most anticipated seasons in a long time.

Since we first announced plans for the IHRA Hot Rod Classic, the interest has been phenomenal. It’s just a couple of weeks away until the IHRA Hot Rod Classic debuts at Xtreme Raceway Park. There have been so many positive comments about the return of Pro Mods, classes like Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Quick Rod, Super Rod and Hot Rod, along with the Real Steel N/T cars.

We’re also excited about our commitment to grassroots, Sportsman racing through the IHRA Summit SuperSeries. By the time this issue of Drag Review Magazine comes out, the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser will have opened its season, while many of our IHRA-member tracks have hosted events.

Again this season, racers can gain entry to the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering by winning the main event in one of the aforementioned classes in conjunction with entering at least two other IHRA races (an IHRA-member track Summit SuperSeries team race or Sportsman Spectacular) before the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals. Current IHRA membership is required.

Of course, racers can still qualify for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering a couple of traditional ways. It comes by winning their IHRA Summit SuperSeries track championship in the Box, No Box, Sportsman, Motorcycle and Junior Dragster classes or by winning one of these classes at one of the IHRA Summit Team Finals.

We thank all the track owners, officials and staff, the racers and the partners who make these different programs successful. I’ve even joined forces with Darana Hybrid to become a presenting sponsor for No Prep Warz and help bring more exciting events to IHRA-member tracks.

As always, any racer or track that would like to contact me, feel free to email me at LJeffers@ihra.com. We are glad to have you part of the IHRA family and look forward to working together in 2024.

We hope you have a safe and fun racing season and are glad to have you a part of the IHRA family.

Larry Jeffers

The excitement is real as big money and big fun are guaranteed when the International Hot Rod Association brings back blasts from the past with the IHRA Hot Rod Classic.

The IHRA, along with partners Don Baskin Truck Sales LLC, M&M Transmission, Hoosier Tire and Extreme Racing Oil, announces large, guaranteed payouts to go along with the special black powder-coated IHRA Ironman trophies and specially designed IHRA medals for all winners!

Top Dragster and Top Sportsman payouts include $3,000 for the winner and $1,000 for the other finalist. Quick Rod, Super Rod and Hot Rod have $2,000-to-win prizes and $750 for the runner-up, Real Steel N/T racers will compete for $5,000 for the winner and $1,000 for the runner-up, and Pro Modified will also compete for big payouts!! All Hot Rod Classis races broadcast on the IHRA-TV channel on YouTube and no cost to friends and family.

Bracket racers will compete for big money too in 64-car shootouts for the Box, No Box and Junior classes. These will be pre-entered and on a first-come, first-serve basis with no double entries. Box and No Box payouts are $5,000 for the winner and $1,000 for the runner-up. The Junior Dragsters have $750 to win and $500 for the final round.

“We wanted to bring back a little of the history of IHRA, but we don’t want to forget our grassroots racers,” IHRA Owner and CEO Larry Jeffers said. “That’s why the bracket and junior racers will always be part of our programs.”
