We love old two stroke dirt bikes so when we had an opportunity to buy this Honda CR 125 we jumped at it, knowing that there would be some work required when it comes to rebuilding and restoring motorcycle. Come along for this dirtbike journey as we go look at the bike, try to start it, take it home to inspect it where we find out it’s a different year than originally thought, being a 1997 Honda CR 125, and it could have an issue with the frame. We see this old 125 two stroke also needs wheel bearings, chain and sprockets, a front brake caliper rebuild kit and new linkage, Swingarm Ang shock bearings. The fast vet “Mail man” Ray Muro is our mechanic and Mark Tilley from Dirt Bike Magazine was nice enough to toss in some All Balls bearings. When it’s all finished we take the 1997 Honda CR 125 out of a test ride with Harley rider “Mad Mike” and the Cycledrag 2002 Kawasaki KX 250 where we enjoy the sweet sound and smell of two stroke dirt bikes. We also reminisce about great two stroke dirt bike riders like Damon Bradshaw, Steve Lamson and Jeremy McGrath. Enjoy this CR 125 journey!
