Fresh off her history-making debut, Dystany Spurlock returns to competition this weekend at The Rock, where she’ll pilot the No. 66 Foxxtecca Chevrolet in the Rockingham ARCA Menards East 125.
Spurlock, who finished seventh in last weekend’s Cook Out 200 at Hickory Motor Speedway, made headlines as the first Black woman to compete in NASCAR’s developmental series. She more than held her own in a strong showing, qualifying eighth and completing all 200 laps at the iconic short track.

Now, the promising driver sets her sights on Rockingham Speedway, whose 0.94-mile,high-banked oval presents a different challenge for the MBM Motorsports and Garage 66 team led by NASCAR veteran Carl Long. With straightaway speeds topping 150 mph, the D-shaped North Carolina track built in 1965 will test Spurlock’s adaptability from the tight, technical layout of Hickory.

“Rockingham is another opportunity for me to keep learning and getting better,” she said. “I’m focused on improving, understanding the car, and putting together clean laps.”

Spurlock’s racing campaign is backed by primary partner Foxxtecca, whose involvement dates back several years and extends beyond the racetrack. The Detroit-based company is documenting her journey through the original docuseries Driven by Dystany: The Road to NASCAR, capturing her development, challenges, and milestones as she climbs the sport’s competitive ladder.
The team enters this weekend with momentum and a clear goal: build on the impressive debut and continue gaining valuable experience against a deep and talented field.
Saturday’s ARCA Menards Series East race at Rockingham is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. ET and will be livestreamed on FloRacing and The NASCAR Channel.
