Moore Wins Pro Drag at Arizona Bike Week Nationals

The Screamin’ Eagle Performance Parts Arizona Bike Week Nationals were held Saturday and Sunday, March 29th & 30th, at the Speedworld Dragstrip in Wittmann, Arizona.  Rick Moore competed in AHDRA’s Pro-Drag and Pro-Fuel classes at this event.

After three rounds of nail-biting Pro-Drag qualifying, Moore took the number one qualifying position from Mid-Continent Motorsports teammate, Chuck Jones, with an E.T. of  7.48.

On Sunday, Moore secured first-round eliminations with a BYE run, and still ran a respectable E.T. of 7.584.  During semi-finals, he interrupted a 4-final streak against competitor Terry Stewart with an E.T. of 7.574.  Moore advanced to the finals with Rocky Jackson.  Jackson (appearing in his first AHDRA final) tried to gain the advantage on the reigning champion, but red lit – giving Moore his first Kresto Pro-Drag Victory of the year.

Moore also qualified and competed in the Rush Pro-Fuel class.  Due to track conditions and strong winds, AHDRA limited racing to the 1/8th mile mark.  Moore qualified 8th place in the 8-bike field, and lost first round to Doug Horne.  By competing in the event, Moore is able to add 32 valuable points to his standings.

At this time, we’d like to extend best wishes on a speedy recovery to friend and competitor, Rick Casas.  Hope to see you at the track soon!

The next event will be held April 19th & 20th @ Gateway International Speedway, Madison, Illinois.
