The Meade County sheriff’s office is officially investigating the Sturgis Buffalo Chip
The Meade County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident involving security personnel and concertgoers at the Buffalo Chip Campground that happened during an Aug. 15 concert.

Investigators have spent the past several days reviewing social media posts, videos, photographs and other information related to the incident, according to a media release issued Thursday. Authorities said additional reports involving other alleged incidents at the campground have also been submitted for review.
The sheriff’s office said investigators have identified the security personnel involved and are continuing to collect evidence and statements from people directly involved, as well as other witnesses.
The investigation has drawn significant public attention, with discussion and commentary circulating on social media since the incident. Officials said they take the allegations seriously and are committed to conducting a thorough and impartial investigation.
Authorities also cautioned that while social media posts can provide useful information and evidence, any determination of criminal conduct must be based on a complete investigation and applicable law.
Because the investigation remains active, the sheriff’s office said it will not release additional details or comment on specific allegations at this time. Officials said more information will be released when appropriate and when doing so will not compromise the investigation.
Anyone with firsthand information, photographs or video related to the incident who has not already spoken with law enforcement is encouraged to contact the Meade County Sheriff’s Office
