Lance Brown, a drag racing enthusiast, ignited his passion in the late 1970s, eventually leading to the creation of his iconic “221” Drag Bike. While his drag racing journey began in the late 1970s, it was in the late 1980s or early 1990s that he took the helm of this remarkable drag bike.

Crafted with precision, Lance acquired an aftermarket frame and a potent Kawasaki engine for the “221” Drag Bike, completing it in the late 1980s. This powerhouse, with a chassis skillfully crafted by Sam Wills in Oklahoma City, belonged to the Top Gas category, fueled by nos (nitrous oxide), delivering an extraordinary performance with nearly unmatched horsepower.

Between 1990 and 2001, Lance’s “221” Drag Bike became synonymous with victory, clinching numerous wins on the drag strip. A pivotal moment occurred on October 28, 1994, when Lance’s skillful ride earned him a plaque and membership to the esteemed 4 Seconds Carburated Motorcycle Club, achieving an impressive 4.98 seconds elapsed time at the US 19 Dragway in Albany, GA.

In 1998, Lance’s excellence in the Prostar Top 10 for the 600 Supersport Top Gas category saw him secure the ninth position, as recognized by ’98 Motorcycle Performance magazine. The apex of his racing career materialized on March 29, 1999, at the AMA/Prostar Star Racing Nationals, where Lance triumphed after two rounds with an 8.451-second elapsed time in the Top Gas 1 category at the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA, earning him the 34th rank.
Lance’s final trophy, a testament to his enduring prowess, came on August 26, 2000, at the Macon National Dragway in Jeffersonville, GA. Conquering Star Racing’s Top Gas category with a 5.290-second elapsed time and a speed of 128.66 mph, he solidified his standing as one of the Southeastern Motorcycle Drag Racing Association winners.
