The IDBL kept the tradition of one of dragike racing's iconic races alive with the U.S. Nationals at Atco Raceway in N.J. It was at this unforgettable race that Larry "Spiderman" McBride suffered a serious explosion and was air-lifted from the track. Fortunately McBride was back within hours. 337 Photos High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris, Pa., just across the W.V. line, was born in the early 1970s when enterprising motocross race promoter Dave Coombs Sr. went on the search for the perfect motocross track. Koenig was nearly the first Pro Stock rider in the six-second zone and held the AMA Prostar record at 7.029, earning the name "7-Oh Joe." The class is comprised of push button start, stock-cradled machines limited to just a seven-inch wide motorcycle slick.
