King Racing in 2008

King Racing are set to take on the best that Europe can offer with their strongest team ever in their quest for a fourth European Championship crown.
 

An exciting line up of team partners and associates are headed by South African company Portable Shade who have joined the team as primary sponsors. Portable Shade are world leaders in folding sunshade awnings, modular exhibition systems, `A’ frame advertising hoardings and advertising flag systems.

Brad Anassis, the owner and founder of Portable Shade, is no stranger to multidisciplinary motorsport as a former SA Road Racing champion, saloon car racer and now a nationally decorated rider in the burgeoning drag racing Pro Street Class and the first rider in SA in the 7 second bracket without wheelie bars.

In their quest for more reliability and power the team had various discussions with those performance component manufacturers who are at the very top of engineering design and development in the fields. Kibblewhite Precision Machining, Inc. has been manufacturing valve train components for the motor sport industry for over 60 years providing the highest quality valves and components. Del West Engineering, Inc., was formed in 1973 as an aerospace structural materials R&D laboratory. With manufacturing sites in Switzerland and the US the company's pioneering in metallurgy; coatings, manufacturing techniques and design have been highly instrumental in the technology which has seen the operating speed of engines nearly double since the first Del West lightweight valves were produced.  Their clients are now virtually all of the engine manufacturers in Formula One, CART, the Indy Racing League and Indy Lights as well as for almost every manufacturer in touring car and GT/Prototype racing.  Their customers also include countless private engine builders in NASCAR, drag racing and many other segments of the sport.  After various issues with exhaust valves over the last years the design team at Del West have come up with designs to alleviate these issues for the future.
